Brachytherapy radionuclide phantom, test object (A non-tissue configured model designed to mimic the functional/physical characteristics of normal or diseased human organs during performance evaluations of brachytherapy system components or radiation therapy treatment planning devices. It consists of either an object of uniform material density or a two or three-dimensional (3-D) model containing patterns of objects, materials, and openings intended to allow for the insertion of brachytherapy sources or assemblies, holders for ionization chambers, dosimeters or radiation measurement instruments.
